New shows are returning. Geeze it felt like Tumblr Summer lasted forever. How did I do Tumblr during the school year last spring?

With new shows returning means gifsets on my Dash, potentially spoilery ones, and after a long Tumblr Summer, potentially spoilery gifsets for some reason feels like a really new unexpected thing? Maybe it’s because this is my first Tumblr Doctor Who, and I joined two of the major TV show fandoms this summer.

Basically I’m trying to think what to do to avoid spoilers. I don’t just want to blacklist the tag ‘spoilers’ because not only does not everybody tag, but then I have no idea what’s under the block and if I should care or not, etc.

I remember seeing spoilery gifsets for Bones and Castle a bit last year, maybe some Fringe (am I following any Fringe fans? Are any Fringe fans following me?) and I think I just tried to ignore them, which is probably what I’ll do now.

Except that I’m also thinking I’ll just avoid Tumblr Nights on nights when new episodes are. I can do that, right? Be productive and off tumblr for a couple hours between East Coast Airing and Actually Watching the Thing Myself.

Which means I’ll have to actually watch things on TV now, instead of DVRing them all to watch when I have free time alone the next day. That’s OK for Bones which I watch with mom anyways, and I already warned her I’d be watching Fringe Friday nights (she got disinterested last season because that’s what she does). But Superatural? Get off Tumblr at 6pm here and then actually watch it, on the actual family TV, when it airs at 9?

I tend not to like having my parents watching what I’m watching when they have no idea what it is. I don’t play video games when my parents are home. If I’m in the middle of an episode of Doctor Who when my dad comes home from work, I turn off the TV and switch to the laptop. Do I wait for them to go to sleep? Do I wear the TV headphones and risk mom walking in on a silent Dean Killing Some Thing scene? Wat do?

personal, rant, of sorts this was weird to write out, stream on consciousness, take that alternative writing styles tag trackers, sometimes my mom doesn't go to bed until 12, she's all 'ok i'm going to go to bed early tonight because work', and then peters around the house doing little things for two hours, was that the correct use of the verb 'peters'?, am I even spelling that right?, I could go in like NaNoWriMo, go to bed early like at 8, set my alarm for 1am when I know they'll be asleep, yes because that seems like the most logical thing to do Kennna good thinking, Supernatural, Fringe, Bones, Castle, so many references,

I’m not the sort of person who normally does these rant things, mostly because I feel like doing so would make me into an attention seeker and I’m the sort of person who prefers to focus on the good things in life, but I want to write this up, partly because maybe it would be good for my followers to understand that I’m not all happy hunky-dory all the time, and I feel like it might be a bit therapeutic to write up my thoughts.

tl;dr - Kenna is unexpectedly hit with IRL feels and isn’t sure what to make of it.
